Our Committee

The committee is made up of parents/carers and friends of the pre-school who give their time voluntarily.

We are responsible for primary decision making, reviewing both policy and practice, fundraising, the employment of staff, and line management of the setting’s Manager.

Our committee meetings are held half-termly at pre-school in the evenings and all aspects of pre-school life are discussed. We also have a fundraising team which meet to discuss ways to raise funds.

Every year an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held, normally in October.  At this meeting the committee for the following year is elected. All parents are invited to attend the AGM and stand for election. It is in the best interests of your child that at least one parent/carer from each family try to attend this meeting as it directly affects the running of the pre-school.

New committee members are always welcomed. It is a fantastic way to be a part of the community, meet other people and be directly involved in the running of the pre-school. If this is something you might be interested in, please email committeechair@fenstantonpreschool.org.uk or come along to the next AGM.

Please note new committee members are required to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

I'm a mum to three girls, one of whom has enjoyed pre-school here and is now at school and two younger ones who will hopefully spend time here over the next few years. I work part time as an intensive care nurse at Papworth Hospital.

I qualified as an accountant (FCCA) in 2005. I have been employed in practice, industry and currently work as a Commercial Finance Business Partner for a national charity.   I have two children, the oldest of which attended the pre-school last year and has now moved on the local Primary School.

After holding the role of Chair last year, I have recently taken over as Treasurer.  It is great to be able to do my bit, alongside a supportive and positive team of both committee and staff, to help build the future of the preschool.
